JULIO`S GUINNESS PUB is the first PUB with GUINNESS on tap in the historic centre of our state capital Düsseldorf, in the whole of NRW and probably beyond.
Here, men and women have been drinking the Irish black gold on tap since 1974.
Since then, the ‘ambience’ of the pub has not changed at all.
The JULIO is a pure communication pub, i.e. a pub where guests (should) talk to each other in person. TV football or other current sporting events are not at the centre of guests' interest. We also do not organise KARAKOKE events. There are occasional sing-along phases from the JULIO clientele, however, always without a microphone.
It is striking that no slot machine has ever been installed since the pub was founded.
The first special licence for the special GUINNESS tapping process (which produces the particularly creamy foam!) was issued by the district president of NRW in 1974 especially for this pub. Since then, thousands of pubs and restaurants have applied for and received this special licence to tap black beer.
GUINNESS connoisseurs from all over the world - even the master brewers of the Dublin brewery - have confirmed that there is no pub east of Dublin where a better GUINNESS is tapped than in ‘JULIO`S GUINNESS PUB’.
One of the reasons for this is that the landlord applied his knowledge of special beer care, which he learnt from scratch, to the construction of the special GUINNESS tapping system and thus created some important conditions for the optimum serving of all types of beer.
