What a finish for the Düsseldorf Dragons!

This week-end was the last one of the year with Rugby games for most of the Dragons teams.

On Saturday, The U14 Düsseldorf players travelled to Aachen for a tournament involving the teams of Köln, Wiedenbrück and Aachen.
Our players managed to win their game against Aachen, but they lost both other games against Wiedenbrück and Köln. Although not the expected result, the experience showed the Dragons' players what they need to work on for the second part of the season.

Our senior men's team was also on its way to play a game hosted by the RCE (Rugby Club Essen). The performance of the Dragons confirmed the good form of the team. With a solid win (43 to 23), the Düsseldorf senior players secured their second place on the Regionalliga table and sent a clear message to all other teams that they would be a serious contender for the competition win this season.
The senior team's captain accepted to answer a few questions right after the game. Check what he has to say about the performance of his team in his after-game interview.
You can also see some very nice photos of the game in our photo gallery shared with us by the photographers Manuela Wilms (https://www.instagram.com/manu_wilms) and Erik Petruzza.

On Sunday 1st December, the Dragons young players also had to travel to Aachen for a tournament.
The mood of the Düsseldorf teams at the end of the tournament was as shiny as the sun. Each team managed to play a very good level of Rugby. Although some teams met a few challenging opponents, they all managed to finish at very good place in each age group.
With 3 wins, one draw and one loss, the youngest ones finished in the second place of the U8 tournament. The U10 won their tournament with 3 wins against the three teams they were facing. The Dragons U12 started with a very good game against Aachen, which they won. Against Köln, the game became more challenging and ended up in a loss, allowing the Dragons to end at the 2nd place.
Some photos of this tournament are available in our photo gallery.

On that same day, four players of the U16 group and four players of the U14 group were invited to participate in a selection training organised by Rugby NRW in Wiedenbrück. Hopefully some of them have been noticed and will represent the Düsseldorf Dragons in the NRW selection team in the future.

All in all, a very positive week-end for all the Düsseldorf players. All the work and efforts of all involved players with the support of the coaching teams allowed to end up the year on a very high note.
Let's hope each team will work to keep the same momentum next year and continue to bring good results for the club.
