Our women’s team host its first tournament of the season

Last weekend, an exciting women's sevens rugby tournament took place in Düsseldorf.

Despite the cool, cloudy weather, many spectators found their way to our home ground to support the teams. The atmosphere was great and there were many exciting matches to watch.

Our Düsseldorf Dragons team played against RFC Dortmund in the first game. Despite a great effort, they lost 0-29.

But as the tournament progressed, they showed what they were made of! In the game against SG Bonn/Bielefeld, they fought hard in front of their home crowd to secure a narrow 12-10 victory. A great moment for the Düsseldorf players as a team!

We would particularly like to highlight Anaïs, who was named player of the day on her tournament debut and scored a try straight away. A fantastic performance that further motivated our team!

In the semi-final against RT Münster, the Düsseldorf women were up against another very strong opponent and lost 5-33, but they never gave up.

In the third-place playoff, they finally faced RSV Cologne. Even though Cologne won the game 36-0, we are proud of the team's performance and what they achieved that day.

The tournament ended with a thrilling final between RT Münster and RFC Dortmund, which Münster won by a narrow margin of 19-17 to take the tournament title.
