A busy weekend for the Dragons

A busy weekend for the Dragons

It started on Saturday 28th November with the children training that had to start earlier due do the following series of games.

At 11:00, the U14 team played their first game against the RSV Köln. Our 12 players supported by one player from the RSV Köln delivered a first good game, but the RSV Köln was stronger and managed to win the game 22 to 5. The RSV Köln secured a second win against the RC Aachen. The last game opposing our young players to the RC Aachen offered an epic fight. Each team managed to score the same amount of tries and conversions to be at the last minute with a score of 21 to 21. It is with a penalty kick beautifully executed that the Dragons won the game with a final score of 24-21. Congratulations to our young players who managed to come out of this very difficult and highly emotional game with a good result.

The day continued with our Senior team who had their third game of the season against the RC Walferdange.

Despite the very motivated and strong line-up that the Dragons had on the pitch, the team from Luxembourg was more efficient and took every opportunity left by the Dragons to score. The fight lasted until the very last minute, but the Dragons could not come back and lost the game 6 to 57.

At the same time, our U16 players who play in the Dutch league with the RC Aachen, managed to bring a solid win with 41 points to 7 against the team CL Wild Duuvels JU 1. Well done to them.

This busy day ended with the viewing of the final of the Rugby World Cup. Many players, families and friends joined us at the club to enjoy together the final of the most important rugby competition. Congratulations to South Africa for their fourth title.

The weekend continued with the participation of our younger players in the children tournament organised by the RC Bonn Rhein-Sieg on Sunday.

The Dragons travelled with 3 full very motivated teams to represent the club in each age group.

All the teams performed and brought back very good results. Our youngest players managed to end at the second place of their tournament. Congratulations to them.
We also have to congratulate both our U10 and U12 players who secured the first place of the tournament in each age group. All involved players demonstrated a good level of skills and motivation and the teamwork allowed them to bring back these victories.
