Loss in Regionalliga quarterfinal for the Dragons men's team

On Saturday, 20th April, the men's senior team faced the RT Münster in the Regionalliga quarterfinal.

Travelling with a minimised squad to Münster, the Dragons fought bravely. Nonetheless Münster scored right away from the beginning of the match and kept the Dragons in their half so that the halftime score was 31:00. In the second half the Düsseldorf players managed to get into the opponents' half several times, but could not finalise any action with points. The strongest phase came up at the end of the match when Münster was put under great pressure in their 22s, but we they resisted well and kept their line closed. Full time score: 55:00.
The score does not reflect the effort shown on the pitch, which all lined up Dragons can be proud of.

Next on is the semifinal for 5th place on Saturday 4th May either away against the RSV Köln 2 or the SG Rheinland followed by the final either for 5th or 7th place on the 11th May.
Two games left to secure the best position possible on the final table.

Tournament day in Frankfurt for the Dragons women's team

The opening match of the tournament day was against the hosts, Eintracht Frankfurt.
With their bodies still not awake from the early hour (11am), the Dragons were unable to build any structure against the Frankfurt team and lost by a clear margin.
With the support of the now complete fan curve, our women's team were able to hold their own in the second game against Odin (Hanover). Although they lost the game, Lisa Baumgärtel and Marguerite Mross scored two great tries (Marguerite's first try!). The game became more fluid. The Düsseldorf players were able to build up good phases more often and really enjoyed playing!
The last two games against Münster Tourists and RSV Köln were lost without scoring any tries.Nevertheless, the Drtagons left the pitch beaming and proud after both games.

Awards:
Player of the Day was @hettie_chap with great tackles and rucks 💪🏻

U14 International tournament in Köln

The U14 Dragons were also involved in a friendly tournament in Köln. The RSV Köln invited the team of Laon in France and invited the Dragons, Aachen and Wiedenbrück to join. The Dragons decided to join forces with the RC Aachen to have enough players to play with teams of 15 players a side.
Every game was very competitive and all the teams demonstrated very good rugby with many beautiful actions and a lot of tries scored despite the weather and the pitch conditions.
The games were followed by a meal to which some of the players and parents participated.
Congratulations to our U14 players who never gave up although the day was not so easy as you will see in the photos available on ourphoto gallery.
Thank you to the RSV Köln for the invitation and for this very successful rugby tournament.
